The Indian night was one of the highlights of the night. Sonia from Goa was the leading singer. One curiosity about Sonia, she talks a beautiful Portuguese and loves to sing Fado (traditional Portuguese music).

Kobe Academy – Pin Checking

Macao and Portugal – A shared heritage


The presidents and their deputies of Macao and Portugal met in a break of General assembly, celebrating a friendship of more than 450 years.

After the long night at 9.00 AM the General Assembly started as always with a full room getting fuller as time passes.

Korean Welcome Party


On the night of Sunday Korean Organizing Committee prepare for all delegates present at the World Congress a Korean party, indoor and outdoor.

Of course Portugal was present, in the photo with Brian (Scotland), German (Germany) and Maria and Antonios (Cyprus).

JCI Presidential Reception


The JCI World President Lars Hajslund has hosted the JCI Presidential Reception, where all the National Presidents 2006 were invited.

It was a remarkable dinner, with very good company and food, creating a very good environment for networking and increasing good relationship among people of different countries and creeds.

Opening Ceremony of the 61st World Congress


The opening ceremony is traditional recognition moment for all National President that in each country do a leading work for bring JCI to young leader and entrepreneurs in each country.

The ceremony was held in Fencing Stadium and broadcast live by the Korean television.

For Portugal, this is a very significant moment because it represents the full affiliation to the JCI family.

JCI Presidents Meeting - Europe




The European National Presidents 2006 of JCI met on the morning of the 12th of November to make a review of one year of work. In percentage, Portugal was the National organization that most grow in terms of membership in the European area.

As a whole, membership has been declined not only in the European area but also worldwide, but the rate of decline has been reduced considerably. In 2006 JCI has about 173,000 members worldwide.
Also the boards of JCI Europe and European Development Council were elected.

First Night in Seoul


After almost 20 hours of travelling with 9 hours difference, the Portuguese Delegation finally arrive to Seoul, to get very good news.

The Admissions Committee gave green light to the full affiliation of JCI Portugal, so is expect that on Monday the 13 of November we will get the recognition of JCI Portugal as full affiliated in General Assembly.

To celebrate this first victory we went to have dinner to a Korean restaurant with very spice food that made us walk a bit in to the cold and busy night of Seoul

Tomorrow is a another day, that will start at 9.00 AM with the European Presidents meeting, so let’s go to sleep and prepare to hard work and fun of the next days.
